Now that a couple years have passed with this MV and song, how do you feel about them now compared to then? What was your initial takeaway from the debut? What were your favorite parts? Your least favorite?

I thought we were getting a debut teaser from NewJeans for this day. I did not know we were getting a full-on debut MV! Was pleasantly surprised by this song and how much of an earworm it was. I remember people scrambling to find out who the members were since their names weren’t officially announced yet. My favorite part of the song is how relaxing it is and how that translated through the choreography as well. As a former dancer, I love to dissect the choreo of idols’ songs. My least favorite part was that the MV left me wanting more but that was the mystique of this song initially for me: NewJeans just debuted with this song “Attention” and yet you did not know who they were. I think it was smart and I’ve yet to see any current or future debuts replicate this to the success that NewJeans had.
literally my favorite kpop debut ever! i remember thinking how different it was from regular kpop mvs and it just felt so refreshing and real. i sometimes watch now every now and then still

It’s my favorite from their debut songs. The scenes in the stadium where they dance with the bright clear sky above, screams summer.
I remember being so captured by hyein’s intro back then, she looked like a seasoned idol it’s probably why most people were surprised by her age.
The hair, the outfits, choreography, everything was on point, and their team perfectly established the groups concept, imagery, and branding. We can see how it inspired and evolved in the following comebacks. Overall one of the most impactful moments in kpop.
Since yesterday, I’ve been downloading all their youtube videos for backup, just in case they’re taken offline.
